Director of EHS Internal Audit

We are searching for a Director, Internal EHS Audit to plan and lead internal Environmental Health Safety (EHS) verification to DCI’s Management System/Risk Management globally.

Key Responsibilities:

  • The Director Internal EHS Audit will plan and lead internal Environmental Health Safety (EHS) verification to DCI’s Management System/Risk Management globally.
  • The EHS Audit team works collaboratively with the EHS and Operations Team to drive performance, continuous improvement, and regulatory compliance.
  • The EHS Internal Audit will work collaboratively and in alignment with our Operations Excellence and Quality group on Enterprise Certifications such as ISO 9001.
  • Develop a risk and compliance based annual facility audit plan
  • Develop a risk and compliance based 3-year facility audit plan.
  • Coordinate and conduct the entire life-cycle of the audit; pre-audit preparation and on-site audit activities; audit scheduling, on-site audit activities, findings, reporting, and verifying/closing corrective actions.
  • Responsible for audit data, reports, dashboards, presentations.
  • Data analysis of audit risks and historical performance
  • In collaboration with affected groups, recommend corrective actions
  • Resolves issues involved in outstanding investigations to provide leadership and clear direction on risk mitigation strategies
  • Provides technical information via recognized national forums with policy guides to develop risk management approaches to emergent issues
  • Evaluates and provides mentorship on effective corrective action plans
  • Assist with and engage/participate Management of Change
  • Assist with EHS Incident Investigations
  • Assist in preparation of reports and summaries for the EHS/Audit Committee
  • Evaluate potential companies during Merger & Acquisition planning.
  • Develop, recommend, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures consistent with prevailing industry practices and regulatory authorities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Health/Safety or related discipline
  • Minimum of 10 years of Environmental Health & Safety experience
  • 10 years of experience working with teammates and management to improve safety performance
  • 10 years of experience working with safety requirements
  • 10 years of experience conducting EHS audits, inspections, investigations, and coordinating resolution of issues
  • Knowledge and understanding of policies, statutes, regulations, agency guidelines, internal standards, etc., and of the management systems and operations being audited
  • Strong planning, organizational and communication skills as well as the ability to work independently and conduct multiple projects simultaneously
  • Must be willing and able to travel 40-50%
