Are you a self-motivated, high-energy, experienced Dispatcher who is looking to take your career to the next level with an ever-growing, essential-industry leader? We are growing and currently in search of a Terminal Dispatcher to join our team!

At DCI Dispatchers are the oil that keeps our machine (terminal) running smoothly. If you are an agile individual who can pivot to prioritize to handle sudden route changes or delivery issues apply today! Responsibilities include coordinating freight movement by scheduling drivers, planning routes, and booking loads while ensuring compliance with safety regulations. This colleague will act as the primary link between drivers and customers, providing updates and resolving transit issues. Key duties include monitoring driver logs, optimizing routes, and managing maintenance, usually requiring experience in logistics.

Pay Rate: $52,000- $55,000 per hour, dependent on experience

Shift Hours: Monday through Friday, 7:00am to 3:00pm or 8:00am-4:00pm, as well as on call responsibilities after hours

Key Responsibilities:

  • Dispatch truck drivers for pick-ups at customer locations, local ports, and railroads
  • Knowledge of port operations
  • Periodically check the yard, ensuring driver loads are inspected and ready to go, chassis statuses are validated, and any necessary repairs are escalated to the appropriate colleague
  • Confirm proper bookings and billings to meet customer requirements
  • Enter data in the computer for planning and general information
  • Provide necessary communications to the terminal regarding specific customer requests
  • Be willing to work extended hours to meet and exceed customer needs and problem solve for our drivers as necessary

Qualifications and Skills:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Experience in the trucking and/or intermodal transportation industry.
  • Knowledge of DOT regulations and Safety Compliance
  • Familiarity with DOT safety compliance
  • Thrives off working in a high paced environment
  • Ability to prioritize/multitask
  • Computer Savvy
