Department: PSC SERVICE-DIRECT LABOR
Location: Port Allen, LA
Function:

Become a Guardian of the Highway: Registered Cargo Tank Inspector
Location: 3100 Phillips Way, Suite G, Port Allen, LA 70767

Role: Full-Time / Lead Technical

Experience Level: Senior (5+ Years)

Pay Rate: $24-$38/hr

Hours: Monday – Friday | 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM

Why This Role?

You aren’t just a mechanic; you are a specialist. As a Registered Cargo Tank Inspector, you hold the keys to safety for our fleet and the public. We are looking for a technical expert who takes pride in "the perfect weld," the most accurate diagnostic, and a zero-deficiency DOT audit. If you’re a master of HM-183 standards and thrive on solving complex mechanical puzzles, your new home is here.

Your Mission

  • Your day-to-day involves keeping the industry’s most specialized equipment moving safely. You will:
    • Be the Final Word: Perform high-stakes inspections (Pressure, Internal, External, Leakage) that align with DOT HM-183 standards.
    • Diagnose & Conquer: Troubleshoot "ghost" electrical issues, air brake failures, and suspension glitches that baffle standard mechanics.
    • Precision Engineering: Install and repair heavy-duty suspensions and air systems to keep our trailers tracking straight and stopping short.
    • Craftsmanship (Bonus): Use your TIG welding skills on aluminum or stainless shells to ensure structural integrity that lasts.

What You Bring to the Team

  • The Credentials: You are a Registered Inspector with a deep-rooted understanding of 49 CFR.
  • The Experience: 5+ years in the trenches of tank/trailer repair. You’ve seen it all, from corroded barrels to snapped leaf springs.
  • The Diagnostic Mind: You prefer to find the "why" behind a failure, not just the "what."
  • Air & Power Expertise: You are a pro with air brake systems and electrical diagnostics.

The Perks & Environment

  • Top-Tier Compensation: We pay for expertise. Competitive salary based on your years of specialized tank experience.
  • State-of-the-Art Tools: Access to the diagnostic equipment and welding gear you need to do the job right.
  • Safety Culture: We don’t cut corners. We provide the PPE, training, and time required to ensure every trailer is 100% compliant.
  • Career Growth: Lead-hand opportunities and specialized training for those who want to master the craft.

Are You Ready to Lead?

  • If you have the 5+ years of experience and the RI credentials to back it up, we want to talk. Join a team where your technical skill is respected and your eye for detail is the standard.

Company Benefits:

  • Comprehensive medical, dental & vision insurance
  • 401(k) with generous company match
  • Paid time off + 10 paid holidays
  • Tuition reimbursement & ongoing training
  • Tool purchase assistance program
  • Life insurance & employee assistance program
  • Parental leave
  • Referral bonuses
  • Industry-leading safety program
  • Career growth opportunities—including support to become an ASME-certified welder
